Buying used Wii games

Just wanted some opinions on buying used games. I only got a Wii recently and looking to add a few games but I can't afford to pay 35-45 euro a pop for a new game.

I asked in a shop recently for Zelda Twilight Princess and was offered it new for 45 or used for 15 euro.

So just wondering, is the price for used games so low because they're not shiny, new, never been played before games or because the might be poor quality such as been scratched, etc?

It's more to do with supply and demand. As TP was released almost 3 and a half years ago there will be plenty being traded in and of less interest as most will have played it at this stage.

I have bought 2nd hand and never had an issue, I usually see games 2nd hand with, at most, £10 off unless it's crap, really old or just unpopular.

Scratches shouldn't be an issue either, as good second-hand shops have the machine to repair the discs. Once i bought a cd from GAME that would crash every time during the same dialog. Brought it back, the guy repaired the disc in 10 minutes, and it works grand now. And had it not, he'd have taken it back.

There's also a good few good games you can get online for quite cheap new. The likes of Madworld, The Conduit, etc

I just wish I could find some good ones second hand and cheap. Still on the look out for Opoona, Muramasa and A boy and his blob!

Don't be worried about buying pre-played, any decent shop should be willing to show you the discc there in the shop and stand by the quality of the copies they take back in. As well as that, don't let any shop ever tell you you have a smaller return period with a used copy, a sale is a sale, you have just the same rights.

ye OP, i always go for the pre-owned stuff. only last weekend i got a pre-owned Wii (lol second hand wee :p). The wiimote was buggered tho but they replaced it there and then. i also bought a 2nd pre-owned controler and nunchuk. ya save a good bit. the only thing with games though, is the limited selection.
