    Hey all,

Want to drop a letter into the Ambulance Centre tomorrow about photographing their ambulances/Doctor on call car, etc. but I'm at a bit of a loss as to who it should address to?

Anyone know what the Superintendent equivalent is for an Ambulance Base?

    Cheers

Depends on how big the centre is. The Leading Paramedic would be in charge of a shift (ie a Garda Sergeant). The transport officer may be stationed there. If its a control centre then there would be a leading Emergency Medical Controller.

Try the Leading Paramedic first would be the best bet i'd say.

    Hey guys,

It's the Cottage Hospital in Drogheda. Only about two HSE Ambulances, a Doctor on Call and an Order of Malta ambulance there, so it's relatively small (I think... I'm not sure how big they usually are!).

I need to try and find the Regional Control Centre in Navan, where there's apparently a bucket load of HSE vehicles. Haven't a clue where in Navan it is though (I've never spent any time there at all).

I plan to drop it in, in person, so I think I'm just gonna stick "To whom it may concern" and if I get talking to someone there, I'll just tell them what it's for and hopefully they'll know the person to contact.

I got a phone number off them before, but when I rang it I got through to a guy who was en route to a road traffic accident (I could hear the siren and all in the background). I decided not to ring that number again. :o

Oooh... I thought It was far away from the Hospital. Sure I'll just look for the Hospital then. Should make life a lot easier.

I just slapped "to whom it may concern" on the letter. Got talking to a Paramedic down there and he let me take a quick few photos, but they were all turning out less than stellar, so I asked and he said I could pop back down at a later date with the tripod/other camera. Nice guy.

Shared a bit of information about the area's ambulance centres and amount of crews, etc. Along with his thoughts on the job in general. Quite enjoyable. Thankfully, even though I'm pestering the Emergency Services with my photography crap, I can still say I've never had a bad experience with them. :)

when your headin in to navan from slane theres a roundabout at the round o pub take the first exit off that roundabout go straight through the next junction at the next junction take a right you will see the fire station on there go straight on take the next left then there a small round about take the 3rd exit follow that road straight up to the top where theres a set of traffic lights go right keep on the road to the right and a few hundred meters on the left is ambulance control.

Pingu, have you been to the Ambulance Station there at all?

Does anyone have any idea what vehicles are stationed there? Am I likely to find a series of varied emergency vehicles, or will it just be a bigger fleet of Ambulances than usual?

Ah that's good, so. I don't mind getting more photos of just ambulances to be honest, so I'd like to pop out to them anyway, but a variety of vehicles would make it a lot more enjoyable :)

If you seen it, then go ahead :) but I wasn't sure if I got you mistaken with one2one or someone else after I wrote it. Don't want to unintentionally offend anyone :o

(for others; I asked if Dubmedic had taken photographs at the Navan Station)

If it's the picture posted here, then no.

That was taken from flickr here, with full credit going to paramedic_alan.

No that't not the picture I had in my mind (though I must ask, was that taken at Navan?)

I can't seem to find the picture I'm thinking of. Ah sure, It's not a concern or anything, I was just curious as to whether you had been out that way yourself at all.

Cheers again for all the help :)
