    As far as I know, it's only been done by iPhone hacker David Wang so far (Edit: the system image was made publicly available, so others can indeed do it too), and the major downside was that the iPhone was unable to make or receive calls. I'm sure he's working on sorting this out, but until he does, I doubt it's going to be a popular mod for the iPhone.

    Making/receiving calls isn't really an issue for me as I've an iPod touch, if it can play music then great!
