Mouth Cancer

I'm 35 and decided that I would get my first proper medical check up and hopefully get into the habit of going every year, anyway blood tests came back ok.

However while waiting for the test results, decided to do a bit of research on the net for various cancers and what age group they effect. Came across mouth cancer and one of the symptoms was a spot on the roof of your mouth, didn't think too much of it at the the time, but some days ago was rolling my tongue around the roof of my mouth and came across what appears to be a spot, anyway worked up the courage to go to the doctor today.

He had a look and said he did see a small spot all right on the roof of my mouth, he said it was highly unlikely that it was anything to worry about but he could see that I was a bit worried so said he would refer me to a ENT specialist to put my mind at ease. Anyway called up and luckily they got a cancellation so can see me nxt Tuesday.

Anyone know what an ENT specialist does, have to say I'm really worried about even though I don't smoke.
