    Hey guys and dolls,
I'm a 22 year old female singer/guitarist and I really want to get back to gigging and having fun as part of a band! smile.gif I have a good bit of gigging, songwriting (my passion!) and recording experience. Started out when I was 16, been playing guitar on/off since then. I've been in two bands before as lead singer/bassist, and have done well in a competition or two ;) I'm currently living in Cork full time, MA student in UCC writing a thesis on female sexuality for the summer. Of course when I should be worrying about chapter structures etc. I find myself picking up my guitar. I would love to find a drummer/bassist/lead guitarist (who maybe will also sing) aged 18-24 male or female! - I'm an equal opportunities kinda gal ;)
Of course gigging means covers by the bucketload but I'd also love to come up with some originals (I've a few up my sleeve).
Music I'm into... I'm kind of into everything really from the Pixies to Pixie Lott...
Please someone be interested and I'll send you on my email! Need a jamming session asap! Thanks guys!

I like lots of different stuff and looking to do kinda kinda electro alt rocky sort of stuff. Dunno how compatible our influences are though, I've a lot of 80s goth kinda influence.

I like stuff like Smashing Pumpkins, Radiohead, Faith No More Queens of the Stone Age/Kyuss, The Cure, Bauhaus, Joy Division, various electro and Trip Hop acts, bit of metal and proggy stuff like King Crimson. I never got too heavily into them(happens with a lot of bands, don't know where to start) but I have fond memories of the Pixies being played back in Ennis. I have pretty wide tastes and trying to expand them at the moment so I mean more than the Pumpkins and a couple of shoegazey bands when I say "Alt rock" but it's still possible we both miss the mark :)

What do you play sandvich? I would be a fan of Smashing Pumpkins and The Cure's "Friday I'm in Love" never fails to put me in a good mood! :)

I play the geetar and some synths(well I'm trying to learn anyway, I'll probably mostly end up using guitars for synth noises).

I think I'd be more a fan of the older ambient, effect heavy stuff like "Pornography". That's my kind of thing. Though musically I'd be more interested in playing something more upbeat.

    Here's some of my music.

It's mostly video game kinda stuff, though there's one or two guitar based tracks in there.

The better stuff is more towards the end. Some of the recent stuff is a bit experimental or silly, but I had fun making it.

I dunno how compatible we'd be musically though I'd still be interested in hearing what you come up with.

Wow listened to some of your stuff there, you're certainly very talented! I think I might be a bit mainstream for your liking though! :o Anyone out there interested even in an acoustic set up? Where are all the Cork musicians?!

Nobody seems to want to do anything sadly :/ Considered moving up to Dublin next year but I'm unsure. That'd be giving up and I think people doing so is the reason there are few around now.

    Hi,

Im living in waterford and looking to set up an acoustic cover band, probably 3 piece, to gig around the munster area...

Am 24 now and haven't been in a band for best part of 3 years but prior to that i was in a acoustic 3 piece playing covers and originals around Ireland and Birmingham, England...

Dying to get back involved as i love playing my guitars and love gigging, have a lot of contacts and would be able to get plenty of gigs in waterford, limerick and cork...

At the moment im writing quiet a bit and when im playing covers i play everything from lady gaga to oasis to pixie lott... Love doing acoustic covers of pop songs...

    Any way interested?

i'm also in waterford(mainly dungarvan)and if your thinking of putting together an acoustic act, i'd be fairly intrested myself(although i do also play electric)
    i infulenced by alt/classic/experimental rock(REM,U2,Nirvana,Killers,White Stripes,Radiohead)
my gear is kinda small grade at the moment(Average Acoustic,Vintage Modal Guitar,Cube amp(10 Watt) and a few pedals, plus a electric powered drum kit) but thats just how it is

Bassist available here if you still need one! I've played in various different bands over the last 6 years, done quite a good bit of gigging and I have a wide range of tastes and influences (rock/indie/metal/singer-songwriter) I'm based in Clonakilty but it's not far to Cork. I also play guitar if you're looking for an electric or acoustic set up. I actually have my own solo acoustic stuff, but it would be fantastic to hook up with another musician and do an acoustic project, especially a female as I'm very interested in vocal melodies etc...

anyway, you can find my solo stuff here: http://www.myspace.com/ignorancemanifest - even though it's all a bit old.

You may know The Zeroes, I think they're a UCC band? Anyway, I filled in as their bassist for a little bit before Christmas.

I also have all the equipment I'd need for gigging either guitar or bass.

    Let me know!
