GSP vs Forrest

    Who wins this hypothetical match up?

    Forrest is much bigger, and has a much longer reach, and......thats about it..

    GSP is better in every other area. He also regularly spars with top LHWs like Rashad and Bones Jones, and holds is own..

    So who takes it?

    I thought I might get a response like this..So much so that I was going to include an option of "Bring this crap back to ****dog" in my poll!

    I cant be bothered to go on that site anymore though, and I love a good hypothetical match up discussion now and then, so Im afraid youre going to have to grin and bear it!

    Despite that horrific display, Forrest is super one dimensional. Surely you could have come up with a better "hypothetical match" than this...

    Hes also been the LHW champ and beaten the current one. As well as having about 50 pounds of weight and 4 or 5 inches of height on him. I think it would be an interesting match up.. Could GSP get him down? could he hold him there? Would he out strike him? etc etc..

    Many people seem to be of the opinion that when there is that big a weight difference, the smaller fighter has no chance.. I dont think thats always the case and the style of the match up can be much more important..

    He beat the current LHW champ, but Shogun only took that fight cos he was skint and he was carrying a big injury.

    If they met now Shogun would destroy him


    And Forrest looks like a Space Monkey

    Forrest would win if these fought. He will be able to counter the wrestling, beat him on the feet and do damage on the ground if needs be.

    So did Koscheck, Hughes, Sherk etc and GSP has got a load better since then.

    GSP would have to fight at least at 185 first which would be major unknown territory, At 205 no idea what would happen, saying that Forest had never really impressed me that much so id probably back GSP.

    Saying GSP is lol bad.
    Giving away almost 50 pounds would ruin his wrestling.
    FG has never had his half guard passed (apparently)
    FG is one of the only fighters to increase strike rate as rounds progress
    FG has the highest leg kick rate in the UFC.

    Using forest's loses at 205 as a example is terrible.

    Unless GSP could make 205, it would be an easy fight
