i got a g&d raider long dst at the weekend. i am cleaning the barrel now but it does not seam to be getting any cleaner from when i started.

i am using some kitchen towel on the end of the cleaning rob with silicone oil.

the kitchen towel is still coming out black after around 15 changes. any ideas is this right or am i doing something wrong??

I personally wouldnt use kitchen towel, cut up an old t shirt or pair of boxers into strips and use that instead! :D

And if you get silicone on your hop up rubber, she's gonna be wild inaccurate for a while!! ;)

If your using the paper kitchen towels, stop. They'll just rip and break apart in your barrel. And you don't want that stuff clogging up your barrel.

And yeah just keep cleaning it till you stop getting that black gunk out. Although 15 times does sound a lot, but just keep at it. And don't forget to turn the hopup off so you don't damage it.

See what stephen said, if silicone oil gets on you hop rubber then it will be inaccuarate for a while. Dont people use silicone oil to help fit a new hop rubber ? (sorry for going off topic lads)

If its a tight fit then yeah you'll put silicon oil on the outside of the hopup rubber. That won't effect its accuracy. And some say its good to have some silicone on the outside to keep the rubber from drying out etc.

And to be honest if you get silicone oil on the hopup rubber it's not the end of the world, put a mag through it and its grand.

Ya only use the oil to disturb the stubborn dirt, that'll only be on the first attempt, after that you wanna use a dry cloth for it.
Try using Jay cloth material or an old cotton t shirt,
