    Hey,
anyone know where I could get a strokesaver for Woodbrook GC?
Have a JimmyBruen trial this weekend and always like to get a feel for the course first.

Nothing on their website, other than a highlevel course map...

    Cheers!

just played there today mate, woodbrook is interesting, my advice is to take one club less then you think you need because it is very bouncy at the moment and also because there is very little behind the greens for youre eyes the illusion is that the hole is further away then it really is, apart from that , good luck!!

Nah I havent contacted them, will try to pick one up on the day maybe.

Is it an open course? Are you punished for being wide off the tee for example?
    Heavily bunkered?

They don't have a current strokesaver. The course has been changed recently with new bunkers added. You can get away with being wild off the tee on a lot of holes but on others the railway line and cliffs come into play where you will be O.B if you stray. There is also an internal O.B to the right of the 12th hole which is a dog-leg par 5 - the O.B is to stop people cutting the corner.

All in all the course is fairly straight forward, what you see is what you get. Be careful not to be long on the short par 3 9th. The green slopes away dramatically at the back which will leave you a nasty chip back if you are long.

I must admit its one of my favs as I always seemed to score there. Very much like a links with the run and bounce, but yet has a parkland feel also.

Be careful of the OB on the 12th, chip and runs short of the green always pay dividends. On alot of holes driver not required. enjoy

If you dont get a strokesaver..

you can always download google earth, and zoom down.
use the ruler function to measure point to point in yards, so you can find all your 100,150,200 yard ranges... print it out and hey presto..

Its not the most labourfree way of getting your yardage, but it is an option.

Find out if they have strokesavers Greebo and if not I can lend you my sky caddie for the day. Its open enough as mentioned and not too difficult , some greens can be quite tricky though. Nice track you will enjoy it. Anyway let me know if you need gps and I will download the course for you !!
