Where in Dublin(for free) can you get a checkup.
I want to know if I have an STD or not. Simple as..

I don't want to go to my local gp(also chances of running into someone i know) and be like yeh where can i go to get checked for STDs? Then charging me 50 quid for that..

People are aware about STDs but they are unsure on where to go and who to talk to. I just want to be able to walk into a place and be outta there...STD Result: Yay or Nay?

    Thanks in advance.:o

you have to go get tested and then wait for the results, only herpes and gential warts can been looked at if you have an out break and the dr know then for what they are and even then samples for tests are taken.

Free testing is done in the GUIDE clinic in St JAmes hospital.

Think st james the only free place. I've heard the staff are great but its very underfunded and you'll have to queue for hours and then not even guanteed to be seen. Might be a free place for gay men also, don't know if that applies to you.

Think the private clinics will charge you about 150, GP maybe an extra 20/30 on top of the basic fee. Though they won't always have the blood testing option there, don't know if you want that or not.

As for privacy you could bump into someone you know at a std clinic too and the GP won't make you wear a sticker indicating what you're there for.
