How to get NAT2 on PS3

    Hi Folks,
    I would like to get a NAT2 for connecting my PS3. I have a Netopia 2247 NWG Modem/Router and believe that you have to do Port Forwarding and setting up of a Static Ip-Address. How the hell am I going to do it. Anyone?? PLEASE!!!:confused:

    First off , congratulations about asking for NAT 2. A lot of uneducated [not meant as derogatory] persons come in thinking they need NAT1.

    Secondly, nice one on your PS3. You won't regret your investment. And it IS an investment.

    You mention the Netopia router. I assume Eircom is your ISP?

    Your setup is notoriously difficult [Maybe impossible, not sure] to get NAT2 properly. The problem is the UBER cheap router that eircom uses. Your best bet is to purchase a better router. Simple as that. A better router [about €50 to €80] will have you up and running with pretty much no configuration and NAT 2, almost out of the box.

    the new zyxel routers that eircom give out (the black ones with one antenna) gave me nat type 2 straight away wirelessly . to get nat 1 on the netopia look at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JugGe7CCuNU

    NAT1 severely hampers your PS3 unless you are ONLY interested in gaming.
