Access to clock tower on South Campus

    Left Maynooth last year (still sad about it and still miss the place!) but a friend of mine was looking around campus today because he's thinking of doing a course in Maynooth next year. He was telling me where he went on south campus and I was telling him about a few of the lesser known spots about the place, and he asked me if I'd ever been in the tower. I've been pretty much everywhere else in Maynooth but I was never in the tower! I thought about trying to find a way in/up but it always seemed off limits for obvious reasons. I never even looked for a door on the thing! But was just wondering if anyone else had ever been up in the tower or found a way in. Obviously don't give yourself away if you're going to end up in trouble.

    I'm pretty sure Banquo had a dodgy sounding plan to change the bell sounds in the tower so he might be able to tell you if you can get in. Can't imagine they just let anyone wonder up there though.

    I thought you meant the massive tower connected to the church with a clock on it that can be seen from miles away.

    Is that not what we're talking about?

    I would hardly call the "fail" clock a clock tower. It's a (broken) clock on a building.

    Yknow the clock that's above the entrance to the back of Callan Hall/Long Corridor. "Legend" has it that if you walk straight down the middle of the quadrangle looking at the clock, you'll fail all your exams.
