    Hi all,

I have few question about insurance.
I am wondering what about if you have an accident and you made a claim or not to your insurrance.

I know nothing in insurance, so I hope I won't sound to silly.

Basically, what happen when a claim is made against you ? Will the insurrance pay it and you lose your ncb ? or Is a system exist whereby you can say to the insurrance that you would like to pay in order to keep your bonus?

What happen if there is a disagrement on the damage made on the vehicule?
Let say somebody bump into you and you pretend that there is more damage than there is actually?

    Who will decide?

    Thanks for your help.

I'm not sure on the details as I've never had an accident/claim but...

If you have an accident, you can agree with the other person to sort it out without going through insurance...more a case of sussing things out at the scene, exchange details, etc. if you do this, you should probably contact your insurance company and tell them that you're going to sort it out without claiming, incase they try to claim from the insurance and get the money off of you...

As for disagreements on cost to fix... generally people tend to get 3 different quotes from different garages, and then pick the cheapest. Saves arguement when its proof of looking for the best quote..

If it goes through the insurance company, they will send out assessors to suss out the damage. I think they might then find a quote, however I'm not sure on this.

I suppose if somebody would have contacted my insurance they will have contact me too.
Does anyone know, how long the 2 parties have to make the claim?

I think the insurance company will send out an assessor to check the car anyway. They would have the say on how much damage will be covered by the insurance.
