hoping someone on here might have some knowledge of this....
we are having a small civil ceremony and lunch with friends and family (max. 60) and would really like to go to a restaurant in town (dublin) for the lunch...
now, my hopes are that we approach somewhere that does a 25/30euro early bird menu and ask for a lunch menu with wine for 50euro a head or with corkage for 40euro a head... now, am i being completely unreasonable in thinking this or in this day and age would a restaurant be glad of a guaranteed 3000euro for a lunch service?
we are not getting married until end of may next year and are about to start doing hard core research/organising (i'm doing exams at the mo.).

We're having a much smaller group than that at our meal (only 8) and we've booked a table in the Ashling Hotel on Parkgate Street. The wedding is in August so I can give you better feedback after that but so far we've really liked the look of the place and the enthusiasm of the people we've been dealing with. The menu sounds great, we had a tough time narrowing it down and can't wait to arrange a tasting.

Not sure if they could fit in the number you're thinking of but sure no harm in asking.

    Good luck with the search.

If I were going to have a restaurant in Dublin, I'd go for either Chapter One or L'Ecrivain.
Both restaurants do outstanding food and I'm sure would be happy to discuss within your price range.
    Good luck!

they would be our dream places and it's encouraging that you think they'd be willing to negotiate...i will most certainly be calling them!

Why not? An afternoon party of 80 people is great business for them.

I'll second this. And they do a two course lunch for 30 euro.
