just back form a great day at the EC. murderously tough but wonderful.
pat ruddy jnr was the man on duty today. what a nice fella. they deserve to do well. from start to finish he was a pleasure to deal with. lovely greeting, great food before and after the round, and a nice chat after the round. they really do their very best to ensure you enjoy your day
top marks to all at the european club. :)

If ever a place felt like they are not really interested in your money and just want you to have a good day out it's that place. Pat Jr feels like an old firend sometimes when you go out there, and the other desk staff are just the same. It's a special, special place.

The course is without doubt my favourite. Lots complain that it is too tough and the bunkers are dangerous, etc, etc, but you can not really go there expecting to play to your handicap. You have to think you way through evrry single shot. Mostly, the question you should be asking is where is the least trouble. Just the way every course should be!

    Glad you enjoyed it to!

Do you mind me asking how much was it to play, I see on their website that the green fees are €180 during this summer season, very pricey indeed. But love to play it sometime but not at those prices.

I played there not so long ago and i loved it, relaxing, enjoyable and friendly atmosphere, and the course is simply brilliant.

want to go back again soon..

for 180 quid i'd be expecting a hug on arrival
    still over-priced IMO

Well the european club is not open every day of the week for guests to play, its a club which is limited to 150 members and guests in order to keep the fairways and greens in top condition, and to allow redevelopment works to be ongoing. this is all imo, but i think its about right.

when i played the course, i was remarking to a playing partner that there are so few divots, and the fairways look fantastic as a result. i reckon these are the benefits of the pricing and the practice of keeping playing days restricted.

we got a present of the green fees so no idea of the cost. but i did see that they were running scotch 4 comps and 4 balls at a very reasonable rate.
