I need to spend a day at NUIM soon, and was wondering re parking - how's it fixed for around 10am???

All depends on what day you're planning on coming. Exams start on the 14th and last until the 27th. I imagine parking won't be too bad during exam time as there'll be a lot less students around on any given day. Anytime after the 27th and the place will be empty.

You'll always find somewhere to park. It just may take a while. I'd recommend parking on north campus, you're more likely to find parking easier, and then if you need to be on south, just walking over the footbridge.

thanks for the replies - what's the story during term time?

It's packed generally. Like I said though, once you're patient, leave yourself plenty of time to look for a space and can parallel park fairly confidently you'll be grand :)

If you're in around 10am spaces should be readily available :) Anytime after 11am and you'll have problems though on a normal day

Hopefully they're going to be getting rid of the abandoned cars on campus over the summer. I brought it up at the last exec meeting and Brian was going contacting security about them and the bikes. Some of the cars have just been sitting there for over 6 years!
Has anyone noticed the one outside Rye Hall that had all of the windows smashed in and the door nearly ripped off the other night? The car park was covered in glass and it was terrifying leaving the car there in case they mistook it for an abandoned one!

    Seriously?! Had no idea!

Yeah! It's crazy! They have no number plates and one of the ones outside Rye Hall has a load of grass and moss growing under it in a perfect rectangle :)

There's been the same bikes at the front of the south campus beside the gates for at least 10 years!! I've lived here for the guts of 12 years and they have been there for ever!

Cars are always being abandoned on campus, there's been some there for years!! The college should have someone who goes around and looks at the cars, like they have in public car parks.

Or you should have to put a piece of paper in the window with your student number, something similar to what they have over beside the aula maximi and the Columba's Centre. It would make much more sense!

There is actually a motorcycle too which has been sitting around the apartments for over a year now.

I mean other then clearing away abandoned cars they need to have a more organized place for those private bus's to drop off and pick passengers from.

Yeah, the bus system is awful, I'm always paranoid about walking under a car when walking around them!
