Iphone 3g jailbroking and unlocking question

    i have an iphone 3g 8gb.its is in firmware 3.1.2 and i jailbroke it using blackraIn and activated sn0w.so it then had:
    bootloader: 5.08
    baseband 5.11.07
    firmware 3.1.2
    lock/unlocked: not sure,but it was originally on o2,and i can call balance enquiry with 3three.

    but it keeps on shutting down randomly (and for some reason during college times and not in the weekend) so i have to plug it in to its charger to wake it up.

    i then downloaded fuzzyband and downgraded the baseband to 4.26.08 and then downloaded ultrasnOw and installed it through Rock.so its now:
    bootloader:5.08
    baseband: 4.26.08
    firmware 3.1.2

    so,im thinking of updating the firmware to 3.1.3 to finally get rid of this "coma mode" bug because it annoys me.

    so my questions is, is it possible to update to firmware 3.1.3 while maintaining the 4.26.08 baseband?and is it a good idea to do so?will the unlock disappear as well as the jailbroken?
    supposed i updated it to 3.1.3 is there a verified way to jailbreak and unlock the iphone?
    i know theres a way somnewhat,as i have the Spirit jailbreaker program but i dunno if its verified to work 100%.

    PS:my real aim to to get rid of the "coma mode" bug and get a better battery life.

    i think ya might be able to update usin pwnage tool but wait till someone else can confirm

    im aware of thats oh yeah,since its already jailbroken by blackrain,im not sure i can re-jailbreak it using pwnage tool?can rejailbreak it and how to i do it?

    if ya have ur shsh backed up ya could restore to 3.1.2 and rejailbreak

    Op, reinstall 3.1.2 from scratch, jailbreak with redsn0w. Use the fuzzyband tool to downgrade the baseband, then download the hacktivated firmware for 3.1.3 from here http://www.ilikemyiphone.com/2010/02/09/download-custom-firmware-3-1-3-ipsw-jailbreak-activate-unlock-iphone-3g-3gs-mac-windows/ install in dfu mode, then install ultrasn0w and bang, 3.1.3 and unlocked.
