Well i had to google political ideology lol but i saw one that peeked my interest and that was egalitaranism.
    http://www.fisicx.com/quickreference/politics/ideologies.html
"Egalitaranism. Belief where all citizens have equal rights and privileges."
But that doesnt really explain about how to control the citizens or if any is needed.
There is a serious problem with insane/corrupt people getting into the upper ranks of politics that the whole infastructure is tainted(society too) imo.
There needs to be a full proof way for the nation of each land to intelligently choose a group of individuals to pass on their wishes for the benefit of the people.
This would need to be imo brought in with a currency not based on debt and controlled by the government of the people with full disclosure of all accounts to the public to keep out rising inflation of the currency.
Maybe not the answer your looking for i dont know if there is a name for that ideology or if it even is classed as one.

If I had a choice, your IQ would be the amount of votes you get.

I don't describe to politics, But if "I" was in Charge I'd have the top accountant or finance Guru in the country as finance minister. Top farmer as agriculture minister , top educationalist as education minister, top fitness guy as health minister ( Not a fat woman ) and so on so forth, then honestly no-one could complain cos we'd have the best of everyone in the most important jobs. No sleazy tricky politicians dressing up and putting on make-up for the cameras pretending to be a nice person.

Is there a name for this?

Maybe every year have a big competition and make them sit exams, see who comes out top of the class.

Meritocracy is probably closest thing to that
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meritocracy
Either that or a council of elders like in fantasy novels

In fairness some politicians should still wear makeup like Brain Cowen :p

We'd need a council of elders to settle disputes between everyone, Elrond because he has pointy ears. Then again we could have the top negotiator in the country to balance everyone.

Rippin the Piss or not, its this kind of thinkin that hampers the debate, somehow the view that (and this is aimed at the widest possible audience) YOUR views and beliefs are superior to the people who disagree with you,and that as such they must be in some way defective/ignorant.

anyway to the topic at hand, Somewere between Libertarian Socialist and Libertarian Capatilist with Republican* tendencies

*Not Ra-Head Bollox or daft American WASPS but the truer older sense of the concept of a Republic o equal citizens each with their own rights and personal space andan agreed set of rules of interaction

I had a good laugh about 2 seconds in when i saw the Bank of Ireland advert(i rarely see ads these days) saying "..every day at Bank of Ireland we approve over 300 mortgage loans.." Just before a program with ideas on how to fix this "financial crisis". Very fitting i thought :D

Just watched the whole program. It was very good.Dont think i agreed with all of it but a step in the right direction anyway. For me they still havent hit the root of the problem so its still a band aid imo.

FWIW I am no ideology. There is no left and right as far as I am concerned just up and down, with the rich and the powerful at the top and everyone else at the bottom.

I suspect you may have misunderstood the post.

If I'm correct, what yekahs was saying is that the smarter people demonstrate themselves to be, the more weight their voice would carry in a democratic vote....and that this is his "ideology" regarding politics.

Me...I don't subscribe to ideologies. I find that they lack....nuance.

How can it be democratic and weighted to one section of the population.
    One man one vote

if these people are smart they should be able to convince OTHERS to vote the same way as them!!

No one individuals vote is more important than the next person.

Me I do subscribe to an Ideology, but its best not drag that up ;)

    One man one vote

The concept of "one man one vote" isn't integral to democracy.
if these people are smart they should be able to convince OTHERS to vote the same way as them!!

I didn't say i agreed with him....rather that I thought you may have misunderstood what he said when you claimed it was dragging the discussion down.

I've never really felt that I have a fixed ideology. I'd be right leaning on some issues and left leaning on others.. and tbh I don't like the idea of painting myself with a brush that can be used to belittle your arguements at certain times. It happens, label yourself as a Socialist for example and others will throw the fact that you're a Socialist up as an arguement and ignore the core elements of the debate at hand.

    I took the test from - http://www.politicalcompass.org/test
I still don't consider myself to be of a fixed ideology, but according to that

    The Political Compass

    Economic Left/Right: -7.12
    Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -2.87

Close to 3 great men Gandi, Nelson Mandela and my name is URL, I can live with that.

I just don't fall neatly into any of the poll's categories, and I do not think I have an ideology that is a fixed rigid paradigm.
It is more fluid than that and it changes all the time, depending on what new information I learn, people I talk to and the older I get.

Ultimately, I believe the capitalist model is unsustainable and profit seeking for the sake of it is crazy and immoral and creates a pyramid slave society.
From that take what you will, but there are elements of each of those categories on the poll that I would agree with and strongly disagree with, so I think its a case of blanket shoehorning here that does not work for me.
