Out of interest what is the first nintendo console you bought. Personally i had the original NES (duck hunt ruled), SNES, Gameboy colour, DS lite and then most recently the Wii.

I never bought the N64 for some reason. Great console it was though (goldeneye was a big change on the multiplayer games).

There are probably a console i am leaving out but you get the idea.

Have every generation except for GameCube but only actually bought my DS (thanks Santa! :D)

These consoles really can't be touched. I still have the NES set up and I'll play it till it packs in (over 20 years in operation too, how many of the current consoles will be able to brag that!)

Even emulators or the Virtual Console can't properly recreate the quality of these consoles. And Nintendo just kept topping their previous efforts, SNES, then the greatest console of all time the N64. Until the need for a DVD player and new console forced me to a PS2 I would've gladly stuck with the N64 indefinitely, perfect gaming IMO.

First purchase for me was the original GBA. I traded in my GBC to do it (to GamesWorld!) and I still feel bad.

Other than that, I've bought: GBASP, N64, DS, DSi; while I've been given (birthday/Christmas): SNES, GBC (:(), GC, Wii.

Looking at the list of Nintendo consoles make me wonder if I should go and find a NES somewhere :D

The first one was the original Gameboy. Still have it, a GBC, GBA micro, DS Phat, DS Lite, N64, Wii and Virtual Boy (my GC got stolen in a burglary about 3 years ago).

Tempted to get one of the NES/SNES combo machines but the N64 looks horrible enough on my LCD so may just try emulation on my Ubuntu box.

The Gameboy was the first one that I bought but I'd been playing my friends NES for a couple of years before that.

Luckily they were all presents but I went all the way to the DS before I made my own purchase!!

My first console was a lovely black, brick-like Gameboy! I didn't buy it though, Santa got it for me back in the day. I'll never forget playing Kirby's Dreamland on that thing. Ahh.

As for the first I actually bought, that would probably be the Xbox 360 I bought last year (along with Lost Odyssey and Viva Pinata: TIP, woot!).

Switched to Ninty for the N64. Goldeneye and Lylat Wars. Absolute classics! Introduction of the analog stick and rumble! Brilliant stuff altogether!

Previously i'd had a megadrive and C64. Stuck with the N64 anyway and then graduated to a Wii (got my 3rd one last weekend), where i discovered the gamecube games as well! Some good ones can be got cheap on eBay! Luigis mansion and mario kart double dash are classics!

Before i came travelling to Oz, i got meself a nice import DS from the states. The missus has one too so its cool. I'm jealous of her GC tho that shes had since her 21st!! :p

It was SNES, super mario bros.

The best game ever of this console.

But I really like master system and sonic III too.

The first Nintendo console I bought for myself was a pink DS Lite (then I bought a red DS Lite and a Wii)

I believe a SNES was the first one i ever bought (Or had,I didnt buy it) -- I quickly lost interest in it!!! (Either that or an original Game Boy i cant remember which i had first (I like Gameboy better than the SNES i have))

    I prefer older consoles/Games :)

Same here, it was also stolen in the Gaeltacht! Bizarre.

The only one I've never had at some point is a NES.

I bought the original Gameboy at launch when I was is nursing college in Sligo, remember the pack-in being Tetris and loving MarioLand on it.
    Great great system.

I didn't buy the NES as I was a Spectrum gamer, ah well...

I bought the Snes at launch as well, brilliant stuff, Super Mario World is probably the single greatest launch title ever.

The following is my Ninty collection,

    Nes
    Snes
    N64
    Gamecube
    Wii
    Gameboy
    Gameboy Pocket
    Gameboy Light
    Gameboy Color
    Gameboy Advance
    Gameboy SP
    Gameboy Micro
    DS
    DS lite
    DSi
    Pokemon Mini
    Virtual Boy

    All good, all the time!

I'm the same. I thought it was just because I played Wind Waker first, and going back to N64 graphics felt like a step down (same with SM64 and SMS). Wind Waker was my first proper Zelda experience, and since then I've grown tired of its repetition on each title.

The first console I bought was a gba. But my brother had a nes,64,snes,gb,gbc etc. I still have the gbc,gba and I bought a ds. Didn't buy a wii though I bought an xbox instead. And if visual boy advance counts then one of them too.

The first I got was a GBA with Mario Kart Super Circuit and Pokemon Silver (you could pick a free GBC Game). What a investment pity I must of spent a bomb on batteries.I got a Gameboy Pocket 2nd hand not long after. The first I actually paid for was a launch DS with Mario 64 DS.God I hope it`ll be possible to get the 3DS at Launch aswell but I doubt it will be.

I have never actually bought a Nintendo console ever. However my gf bought me a wii for christmas and have to say I am enjoying it a lot, especially Super Mario Galaxy which I just recently bought.

My first memory of a Nintendo console was my brothers original Nes and Duck Hunter.:)

It would have been a clear purple gameboy colour. Well I didn't buy it, my mam did for me :P

The original Gameboy. It was a Christmas present, along with Super Mario Land 2 and Kirby's Dreamland. Good times...

NES here. From a friend when his mother bought him an Amstrad PC and thought he'd outgrown the NES.

His little brother asked to buy it back a few months later though. So I no longer have that particular one. Did buy another a few years later. Still have a lovely minty box for it too.

So in order it would be -

    NES
    Red Gameboy Pocket
    Snes
    n64
    Gameboy Advance
    Gamecube
    Wii
    DS lite
Super Famicom & Wild Card disk drive
    Gameboy DMG-01
Gameboy DMG-01 Black Play it Loud (chiptune modded)
    Gameboy Micro (Famicom version)
    Gameboy Advance SP (NES version)

Fingers crossed the next one I add to that list will be a Virtual Boy. If not that then a 3DS :)

    NES
    Snes
    Nintendo 64
    Gamecube
    Wii

Never owned a Gameboy but have a DSi

Never owned anything owned by Sega, Nintendo fanboy all the way!

I much prefer the graphics on OoT on the N64, than the Wind Waker on the GameCube. I hate the cell shaded, cartoon-y graphics on the Wind Waker. I see they are doing something similar with the next Zelda on the Wii which is a shame. I loved how dark Twilight Princess was.

    Consoles: NES, Gamecube, Wii
Handhelds: Gameboy Advance, DS and soon to be 3DS :D

Though I lost a wire for the NES so games like Duck Hunt, Mega Man 2, Mario 3 and a few more are a memory :'( (Excluding Virtual Console though but it's just not the same!)

NES w/Super Mario Bros & Duck Hunt on the same cartridge. Oh, and the big orange laser gun. :D

My first was a NES in 1992. I then caught the bug and got completely hooked, I'm a total Nintendo nerd! As you can see from the pics... :) That's not even all my games, there's about two or three not there.
