    Hi there,

I'm just after moving into a flat in Rathgar (Brighton Road) and I need to get in touch with my local TD but have no clue who it is. Can anyone help me with this?

    Thanks :)

I'd advise you to try the Internet.
Google is quite good for finding information. ;)

    Try the local pub.

Or a funeral, or christening, or wedding, or the opening of a packet of cheese and onion taytos
(doing valuable constituency work that is)

There was a time when people knew that if you can't actually be helpful, don't bother. This not being the idiotic comedy forum and all that. It's perfectly reasonable for someone to ask.

Rathgar is in Dublin SE. Your TDs are listed here.

Wikipedia is probably the least reliable source on the web.

Here is the most reliable source you could probably find:

    http://www.oireachtas.ie/members-hist/default.asp?housetype=0&HouseNum=30&ConstID=92&disp=mem

The local pub was a good and proper suggestion as many TDs run weekly clinics from them.

I'm glad you got the info you were looking for. I just hope you are contacting the TD over a national issue or to complain/congratulate them on their performance. If it's a personal/local issue, the county council or a tenants association would be a more appropriate point of contact.

I'd actively encourage contacting your TD to let them know what you think of them

With that in mind I'd say that Oisin Quinn would be your local councillor, I think Edie Wynn is that area of Pembroke-Rathmines too.

Thanks again guys. It's an issue I'm having with applying for rent allowance. I was given totally wrong information by a local welfare officer and am a bit screwed now. I'll try Oisin Quinn first, see if he can help.

Sorry about the thread necromancy, but there's now a tool to answer exactly this question.

http://www.whoismytd.com/ will get a list of TDs if you give it your address.
