Just saw the ad for the second episode, just before the 5:30 news. In it one traveller mentions how being called a knacker is just the same as calling a black man a ******. I thought this language was a bit much for a tv ad, especially quite early in the day. Thoughts?

Racial slurs acceptable in daytime ad breaks? 13 votes

It was in context. It's not like she was racially abusing black people.

It was a guy, yeah but fair point it was in context. I'm thinking of parents with kids, it's a strong word and it's not like parents have any warning a racial slur is about to be dropped.

Why would parents need a warning of it? At the end of the day if the kid uses it and asks what it means then the parent can explain it's an inappropriate term.

True but I think it's best if parents told their children that themselves, when they feel it nessecary and not having their hand forced by TV3.

Only saw about 2 minutes of it but it was funny when the presenter was chatting to 2 teenagers and one fella said he doesnt get as much hassle as he doesnt look like a traveller ...
Presenter asked "and wat does a traveller look like" ... and the other fella butted in .. "Me" :D

What a sh*t tv show.Watched 10 minutes of it last night and switched off. I've never seen such agenda driven journalism in all my life!

He was purposelly finding people to interview who have negative things to say about travellers.I'm from and live in Rathkeale and I'm sick to my back teeth of journalists coming in here trying to create tensions between settled and travelling community.

    Slopppy journalism at its worst

The reporter needs to get fit as he barely made it to the top of croagh Patrick. Whenever he talked he was winded. How did they get the horse into the caravan?

Henry the reporter was on Vincent Browne's show later defending the show and its title

The programme is outrageous, enough said.

Nobody is saying there's not decent travellers out there but what this programme showed was a deliberate distortion in favour of the good ones. What I witnessed on this show was not what my life expreiences have thought me about travellers sadly.

They showed a learning centre in Ennis which was great but they should counter this by showing Ennis last night where ordinary decent people couldn't leave their homes because of the carry on of the not so good memebers of this community.
