M249 para battery cover

hey lads, i having a bit of trouble putting on the battery cover on my m249 para, its located at the front of the gun, but when i put it on its very loose, if i lift it up the cover will fall straight off, nothing seems broken off, so i think theres some way of putting the cover on, any help?

If ya look underneath it when you are fitting it, theres a small clip on the foregrip that inserts into a slot in the underneath of the receiver. Theres a pincer kinda spring inside the reciever that locks it into place, it sound liek you are either missing the socket all together or the spring is broken.
you wont miss it, theres 2-3 allen keys in it.

See where the wires come out, just in front of those 3 allen keys. theres a little slot. the piece shown in this picture sits in there,

and locks into the little spring clip thing. I cant see the clip properly in those pics but if its broken or stretched then it wont hold on. have a look down the front of it and see if the clip is there or stretched beyond the point of being able to lock in the grip.
