Anyone have any info on this? I am doing a 2nd year Engineering student and I am thinking of changing over to Computer Apps. Does anyone know if I can do this and how? What will the fees be like? I can't find anything on the DCU website.

    Thanks a lot.

Most likely have to start in first year again, and pay fees for first and second year at 5.1k a pop.

So its the same as repeating a year, just in a different course?

Know if there is anyway around this? Is this the same as transferring courses?

I think a transfer would probably only work if you had done very similar modules in another course. Engineers seem to share very few modules with CA. I could be totally wrong though. Chat to the careers office and the heads of schools for the best advice.

I'll have a chat with them then. In first year we did a module on C and in second year we did Java and C++, and we also did Databases and Operating Systems, which we shared with the CASE students.

Usually you have to start the course from the first year but you might be able to get exempt in some modules you've already done.

btw, your grammatical error made me lol when I first read:
I am doing a 2nd year Engineering student

Believe me, they'd be much more impressed by Physics.

I wish I had found this thread earlier so I could be the first to make a witty comment about the grammatical error.

    Some day...
