Is it just me or is boards.ie very 'heavily' moderated?

it would seem to me that some stazi style cyber-police are patrolling this area, watching our every word; mercilessly censoring us if we 'step-out of line'.

Just goes to show how conservative this country still is; there is a massive fear of creativity and individualism. (Take a look at RTE! (let alone, banks, local authouity, government, "universities" FAS etc etc etc))

And I though the internet was supposed to be all-free n stuff, what an irony; we're more controlled than ever.

The messege I get is "Don't budge from your little box"

..........oh well ho hum if you can't beat 'em, join 'em!!!!!!!

Nah it's not that bad. Maybe newbies find it daunting when a mod goes all bold on their ass but once you get the feel of a forum you know what to expect, and others know what to expect from you

I'd say the reason boards is so popular is because it's so heavily moderated. Anarchy isn't as much fun as you'd think.

It's the best site in the world and all the mods are really kind ,goodlooking and fair.

There were seven AH mods for ages, the same amount of members on the Politburo, until the recent re-arrival of Doc B. brought the number to eight.
I feel there will be a purge soon, to maintain the Soviet-style comparisons.

One ex-mod recently dug up Hitler's body and cremated him, just to make sure he was dead.

    Less competition then.

Feel free to set up a site based in Ireland, let people say what they want.

Come back when your bankrupt. Should take about a year for the lawsuits to settle up.

I think alot of people forget boards is a privately owned site and at the end of the day its whatever the admins say that goes. If you dont like it, dont use the site.

Moderations is fine, the rules are there for every forum, just abide by them and there is no problem, simples.

well its either moderate the place or let anyone say what they want, no matter how untrue/slanderous it is and the website gets its ass sued and closed down.
take away the mods and the place would be shut down in days

There's plenty of sites on the web that are completely bat****, be thankful boards is strictly moderated.
