    Hi there,

Does anyone know of any venues that host a regular Silent Disco? If so, details? If not, any once off Silent Discos coming up to look out for in Cork or Dublin?

    Thanks.

Upstairs in twisted pepper tends to do them as well. The biggest one is the 02 Headphone Disco which is usually at college events and the like, but you just missed a huge one in Temple Bar last Saturday

Never been to one of these and at first kinda smirked at the idea but having read the description on wiki my interest grew somewhat - especially the idea of taking off your headphones and watching a club full of people dancing to silence!

When you approach it from the distance its hilarious. You hear low levels of chatter and then the odd person roaring ''WHOOO!'' or ''****ING YEAH!'' while no one around them takes notice.

Yeah I'd say that's pretty entertaining alright, especially after a smoke or two.

Haha... someone brought their baby to this one.

There was a huge one on the sunday night at electric picnic in 2008 but the music was appaling, the best to offer smells like teen spirit. they could have at least played some sort of electronic music, given that there were two DJs and two channels on the head phones

smirnoff are doing a silent disco tour in clubs around the country at the minute. theyre great fun, especially when the drink kicks in, and people start shouting to communicate with eachother. "im dying for a piss, back in a minute" when the entire place can hear them!

click on the events tab for dates etc.

Went to these the last couple of years at Electric Picnic, and had an absolute blast both times.

There were about 8/10 of us - pretty hammered, some dancing around to Whitney Houston while the rest were listening to Nirvana. Brilliant. Although sober? Not so much.

I was, and after a weekend of working there. I guess I longed for some proper tunes...

Nope, in '08 I was workin with the myhab crowd, erecting huts for the privileged folk. Last year gone I was with the Body & Soul, and barely left the arena itself. I missed Chris Cunningham, Four Tet and Moderat!
