Alloy Wheels

I'm hardley modifying my car here but I just want to put a set of alloys on my dump of a car, to make it look a little better than hood caps, and I thought people on this forum might know that good bit more.

I don't have a clue of any of this stuff, but my car needs:

    PCD 4X100, Offset 35-45 and Bore 57.1

The alloys I am going to buy are:

    PCD 4X100, Offset 35-45 and bore 56.1

The seller said that 72.6-56.1 spigot rings on the alloys and I just need to get 72.6-57.1 spigot rings, that are aparently cheap enough and easy to change.

Is this all true??? And should everything be ok??? How much are spigot rings normally???

Sorry about being such an amteur about all this.

I 'd try fitting it the smaller rings on first, they'd probably fit ok - it's only 1mm.

Grand, but the alloys should be ok yes????

yeah, shouldn't be a bother, If your car has steel wheels, you'll need to get nuts/bolts to suit alloys.

Oh ok, didn't know that, is there a certain type, my car has just steel wheels aat the moment.

I persume I just need to find ones that suit them and that fit the previous nut size, if there is such a thing.

    Thanks for all the help

the inner edges or them are usually rounded as opposed to flatter for steel wheels. some have a built in washer, and generally alloy nuts are chromed and look nicer.

Fair enough, I've been looking around online and I can't find which ones to pick up.

I got the alloys yesterday and I have the spigot rings on the way, so now I just need to sort out the nuts/bolts and I can get them on the car.

    Thanks for the help

Outta curiosity what type of car is it? What wheels did ya go for?

I picked up some TSW Venoms for a Seat Ibiza in the end.

I got the spigot rings, well only one, waiting on the other 3 to be delivered and all fits perfectly. I ordered some chrome nuts and 4 locking nuts aswell, and they are en route too.

So these will be ging on the car early next week when everything arrives, do I have to do anything else or check anything on the car before I go driving as normal with these new wheels on it??? Wheel balancing or aything.

no harm in getting them balanced, drive it first and check for vibrations. make sure the tyres are in good nick before fitting, looks for bulges and cracks in the sidewall, excessive wear.

Good stuff, no the tyres are top notch, but 3 of them are pointing one way and one they other way, like the arrows on the wheels that show which direction they are meant to go in, which means that one will end up going the wrong way, is this a big deal???

At least you'll have great traction in reverse :)

But seriously, get it sorted before you head out on wet roads
