Has anybody entered this race? Is it an annual event or first time running. Just wondering about numbers and organisation etc.

Missed the registration for the docklands run the night before.

hi. I work for the project holding this run. For info about who we are and what we do go to www.hepinfo.ie . Its the first time we`ve held it, but aim to hold it as an annual event on the 19th May- World Hepatitis Day. Hope that answers your question.

    Cheers,

    nic

Run Ireland says the 19th as well when you go to register, so i'd go with that as well.

    Hi,

It`s not chip timed- hopefully next year. Btw the date is the 19th (Wednesday) race starts at 7.00pm, if you plan to register on the night please be there at 6.30pm.

    Cheers

Its mainly flat, except for the last 1/2 km when it goes up the Khyber Pass towards the finish. For a map of the course go to www.hepinfo.ie, scroll down & you can it there.

Anyone know if the organisers have a RCO for the run tonight?
Have my long run in the park later and normally start around the Furze.

Enjoyed that actually. Good race and well set up. Thought it all went well aside from the fact some numbers were handwritten think they had more signups than they expected.

Lots of marshalls pointing the way on the route, water station at 6k, bananas, oranges, water and scones etc at the finish line and a goody bag with t-shirt, medal, panty liners and condoms. :pac:

Think this will be one to pencil in again for next year, hopefully wheeze free next time round. :D

What was the winning time? mens and womens

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 20,369 Mod ✭✭✭✭RacoonQueen

Mens winning time was 28 something I'm told. I finished second lady and was just over 38 I think so she must have been 37 something.

Yep, the winner and 2nd were just under 29 minutes IIRC. RQ came in at a little over 38 minutes, with the first female about 15 seconds ahead.

    Photos are on racepix.com now....

Came across the race while I was out for a training run. Had a few people shouting "you're doing really well!" (apparently I would have been on course to come last with a 5 mile time of 62 mins...).

I really enjoyed it, it had a very community feel ????

The scones at the end were lovley as well.

I was happy with my time of 44.52 ( my own watch ). I also got a measurment of 5.1 miles ????

Anyway it was well run and the marshalls etc were a pleasure to deal with.

Oh and i hit one of my year goals doing 5M in a sub 45min time !!!!

Add chip times in there and it would have been the perfect race:)

But well done to all involved

I very much doubt it. I think they were really treating it as a fun run and not actually recording the results...

He was doing the same thing as he passed me, didn't quite catch it though... His mate didn't look overly impressed!
