For Newly Qualifieds

    Hi All,

Just a quick question, I'm gonna be a fully qualified secondary teacher this year, in other words I'll be ready for action come September 2010, does anyone know what the job situation is like this year? I know last year it was DIABOLICAL, but is it still as bad? Anyone else out there finishing up this year and looking for jobs? I've applied for a few already, but it's only seriously part time stuff of 5-10 hours per week. I wouldn't turn my nose up at ANYTHING though!

Also, do Principals look down on newly qualifieds??

    I'd appreciate any advice please.
I can't wait to get out teaching. :D

it will be fairly slack, only thing is lots of management is retiring hence lots of teachers moving up so will be hours alright. Principals take everyone at face value so put yourself forward as best you can

Its still that bad. Don't believe the Green Party spin that they had in their renegotiated programme for government.

Hard to say, my school lost three teachers last year, we're losing three more this year.
