PITA, one too many digits to fit on a properly sized period plate.

Four Digits good, five digits bad. I cant stand them, though i know most people couldnt give a toss. And the fact correctly sized digits wont fit a standard plate properly too is annoying. Though most year plates have the same problem.
I know it was just a stroke of a pen in some office somewhere, but a bit more consultation should have been done on it before it was signed over to the five digit layout. After most of this century of only four numbers, someone decides that five will be a good idea, and will look the same.

It wouldnt be so bad if there was no other option, but there is entire series' of unused numbers still out there.

Yes,i know its a small thing in the big picture, but like a stone in your shoe it bugs me.

We should be glad they're still giving out ZV numbers, I'd hate to have to stick a normal reg on an old car.

Have you mocked up a plate to read; 73 C1 044, if I get stuck with 5 digits in Clare next year would have a look at that.
