Need a dentist that'll knock me out

Dear friends,

I did a search of the many dentist threads on here but could not find any info on dentists willing to knock you out.

I need a dentist that will sedate me, or knock me out in some way in or around Galway City/County. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

<snip> are great, they do late evening on Mondays so you could go down then for the consult and make the Sat appointment for the main job.

OMG TillyGirl - I just read your post on the thread address you posted here. I went for the intravenous sedation in <snip> also and they left me waiting, prodded me with needles 3 times - I have a MAJOR phobia of needles - and couldn't find a vein after putting my hand in boiling hot water and tying a latex glove on my upper arm to try and get a vein to appear. I was in so much pain and crying and left only to get a bill for the sedation a few days later in the post. The bill remains unpaid.

Anyway after that experience I gave up on IV sedation as I hadn't heard of anyone who encountered the same problems and my teeth remain literally rotting in my head (wisdoms) - I cannot eat so many foods as they cause bits of the teeth to break off and it's painful. But thank you as now I have a bit of renewed hope.

Ya they are a disaster, my boyfriend paid for the sedation not knowing exactly what was wrong but I got it back, took ages, <snip> wife does the accounts so had to talk to her. Just ring them up and say there is no way you are paying for that. Good luck.

They done that with the latex glove on me too. That should have sent the warning signals!

Well I went to a well known clinic her ein Galway today for an initial inspection. After x-ray, dentist advised me that infection has started under filling down at the root so he mentioned root canal, he reckons there is no dentist in Ireland who will knock me out for this as the procedure takes too long (1.5 - 2 hrs). He gave me a weeks worth of antibiotics, reckons I have got it early and that there's a very good chance to save tooth etc but I am just too terrified to face this awake.

Tilly, do you know if your crowd in Sligo can help?
Anyone else know of a dentist who can help me with this treatment under sedation?
