High % toothpaste

It has recently recommended to me that I should start using a high % bleeching toothpaste. Where is the best place to get these toothpastes? Are there sites to order them off? I'm looking for around the30% mark as I was told that this is the strongest that I'll be able to get my hands on

Yes there is you can get sensodyne pro enamel bleaching toothpaste and you can get colgate whitening bleaching toothpaste
Tescos or most supermarkets sell them

They are all relatively low % though aren't they? That's why I was wondering if there was anywhere else to get a higher % one

whitening and bleaching are totally different things.

whitening toothpastes work by having bigger pieces of silica which do a good job of scrubbing away the surface stains when you brush your teeth. they whiten your teeth very very slowly over a period of months.

bleaching agents are not to be used with a tooth brush. they break down the stains by oxidising the shyte out of them. i'm not into using scienticians lingo most of the time anyway.

so, i really want to know what % you're talking about too!!

You may be getting things mixed up. I would think most whitening toothpastes do very little except scrub off superficial stains with abrasives.

If you want the teeth whitened safely talk with your dentists about whitening gels that contain peroxide at different %'s

the 30% is NOT hydrogen peroxide

If you spill it on your skin 30% peroxide will give you painful burns with white scars for a while. It also burns holes in your jeans.

Not as bad as caustic burns , but worse than than many acid's.

it's carbamide peroxide, which is usually at a concentration from 30 to 45%, breaking down to hydrogen peroxide working at a conc of about 10 to 15%. the hydrogen peroxide does the work.

and yes, if you ask anyone who didn't pay attention to what they were told and over filled the bleaching trays without wiping away the excess, the white papillae on the gums hurt!

Ok I'm a bit lost, does this % tooth paste exist? Or is it merely a stronger whitening toothpaste?

Also what is the best stain removal toothpaste available? I want to remove as much of the stains on my teeth as possible and then follow up with a strong whitening toothpaste.

What's confusing? There is no such thing as a whitening toothpaste. These toothpastes are marketed as such but are really only slightly more efficient at removing stains.

The only way to change the colour of teeth is by bleaching with carbamide peroxide or hydrogen peroxide. Or by veneering the teeth with porcelain or composite. You cannot change the colour of your teeth with a toothpaste. It's not possible.

Sometimes teeth appear discoloured by surface stains. These can be removed with certain toothpastes, but again this will not change the colour of your teeth.

I suggest you attend a dentist who will be able to explain this to you properly with pictures and such and will be able to tell you if you have stains or if your teeth are actually dark in colour.

Car analogy,

I have a yellow car but want to make it white....

Toothpaste removes stains and dirt from the teeth = washing the car.
Bleach changes the colour of the car = respray
Crowns and veneers = vinyl wrap.

Unfortunately most dentists dont offer a scrappage scheme for 10 year old teeth....
