She cleaned up well. Best of luck with her. I'm glad to see another Irish reg'd NSU surviving.

I remember as a youngster, we used to call them NSU's for "No Shaggin' Use", but that was just my pre-pubescent, peurile sense of humour. Hope you get it all sorted and up and running. Don't know much about them except that rust may be a problem, especially at the seams where the various panels meet and possibly in the floor also. You would know more about this perhaps on the basis of the one in your posession. Do post more pics as it progresses and best of luck with it.

Dont know if there is a club, I am a fan.
There is a man in Co.Down who has an original TTS among others and a man in Co.Louth who has a TT.
The TT which had been in a Circuit of Ireland was on show at this years Circuit launch.
P.M me if you want the phone number of the TT owner.I have spoken to the TTS owner but dont have his name to hand.
    Rugbyman

    Best of luck.

Thanks for helpful replies, car has rust problems, but only surface and lower wings etc. - structure and floor pretty good, due to dry storage with
    concrete floor.
Brakes were siezed on and released with special tool (hammer), couldn't
beleive that tyres with flat bottoms and cracked sidewalls actually held
    air after 28 years..
Engine seized but plugs now removed and oil soaking into rings - was very
tempted to try tow start, but thankfully didn't

There is an NSU club, I've seen their stand at a few shows. They're usually at the show in Kilbeggan which will be on the 23rd May

I remember them well, my father had a two cylinder model.

I believe the 110 was unique in the world because it had the only four cylinder, in-line, air-cooled engine in production at the time.

(@2.4Trooper: the engine was in the back and mounted transversely)

Interesting as the in-line configuration doesn't lend itself to air-cooling, you would have thought a flat config like the venerable VW type 1 would be more sensible.

Yes I see where you are coming from, but the same type of engine was used in the Prinz 1000 tt and tts which were competitive rally cars in their day. They are still being raced to this day, they would of course have been uprated from the standard engine, but the design was the same
