As the new owner of an S-Type imported from the UK I am just wondering where to get the car serviced.
    I hear Spirit is over-priced.
    What are the alternatives?

Dare I say it? A Ford dealership as the car is mostly a Ford;)

AFAIK The 2.5/3.0 V6 engines in the S-Type is 95% identical to the V6 Mondeo Duratec engine

    Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jaguar_AJ-V6_engine

The S-Type chassis is a Ford chassis: Wikipedia:

God only knows what else is Ford in the car.

Edit: If its a 2.7 Diesel, its a development between Peugeot/Citroen/Ford

What year is it? If it's 2004 or older (to pick a year at random) it might be simpler and cheaper to service it yourself. Good luck with it, hope it's reliable!

Its 2007. Just shopping around for service options as it will come up soon enough and it would be good to have the homework done.

Spirit Motors are the only option in Dublin if you want to use a Jag appointed dealer.

You could always make a weekend of it and travel to either Bolands in Wexford, or Bradleys in Galway if you want to use a dealer. Or go up north to Charles Hurst.

I think there is a good Jag specialist around West Dublin, but I can't remember his name. I know there is one down in Wicklow direction.
