Which Bookies are paying out on the Disqualified Sunbow 8.05 Thirsk?

    It was some race. It seem that when Sunbow reared up at the start some weighs fell off.
    In the race he came from the clouds to get up first past the post by a nose only for the stewards to subsequently disqualify him.

    Paddy Power shops are paying out FPP in full as a goodwill gesture and I understand Corals paid on dead heat rules. Seems fair and decent on their part.

    Secondly, since there was no deliberate attempt to carry the wrong weight should the bet at worst case scenario by treated as a void?

    Isn't the jockey that finishes FPP by deliberately blocking the path of a horse behind him a bigger sinner that the jockey that inadvertently loses a weight through no fault of his own?

    Did anyone get paid out on Sunbow by their friendly bookie?

    Maybe the bookies should look at revising their Double result rules for such an event.

    Dont rules of racing apply in circumstances like this. I think that if the clerk of the scales objects and the winner is threw out well then the double result doesnt apply. I may check this out as not fully sure.
