Raheen is abysmal in terms of recreational infrastructure.

    - Estate after Estate after Estate after Estate of crappy, poorly-built housing and cramped together with 15 foot gardens, few green areas and nothing for the next generation to do.

Its Limericks future regeneration project.... Congratulations to the Planning Office - You are officially the lowest of the low.

why is it more important to describe whats bad about your area in the city instead of the good.
This is the problem with a lot of people in Limerick they prefer to dwell on the bad stuff instead of what is good

In many respects this is true.

    - But in all fairness hundreds of thousands of People just putting up and shutting up has only contributed to getting us where we are today..... Lets pause and admire it in all its glory :(

I get what you're saying but people have to realise there are alot of things that could be done better in the city & despite the boom there is still a distinct lack of facilities.
For instance there aren't alot of good parks with proper swings, climbing areas for kids, there's not even a cinema in the city centre for ch***t sake!!
I gew up in the North Circular-one of the 'so called' good areas but there isn't a hell of alot there really. The nearest green are would have Barringtons pier or the green down in ashbrook gardens but the playground in westfields is gone, i don't think the pitch down there has been looked after in a while.Waht you do have are a few big gaffs and a few muppets who think they're the Stepford wives.
I think they have a playground down in Shelbourne Park.
I used to play basketball down in Ardscoil during the summers but I think they took the nets away.
There's no gym, Jims is gone about 10 years and is bordered up(I think it would be nice for a coffee/deli) & despite been one of the affluent parts of the city has a school (JFK) falling down.

Sure is bad for infrastructure, but that didnt bother me and many other people growing up there. I wouldnt say the houses are crappy or poorly built no more than the ****e they have built in the last 10-15 years. Actually most of the houses in the Raheen area are built to last as opposed to some that have been built in this country in the last decade

I'm from Raheen too. Aww poor Timmy, didnt have any friends as a child. I had a great time growing up in Raheen, get a bike and go cycling?? have a kick about with mates??

Dont know what age you are, but we made our own fun.

Underage drinking will always take place wherever you are. I didnt go underage drinking in the bushes but I went to the pub instead (16,17 etc).

As for Anti-social behaviour, there hasnt been that much.
