07 VW Golf intermittent starting problems??

    Hi all,

    I hope someone can help, I have a 07 VW golf, since I bought the car its had intermittent starting problems, more so when its hot outside, it then always starts, but I have to give it some Acceleration - which I know cant be good for the car, the temp switch was changed and this didnt sort the problem.

    It was with the VW dealer a few times, and typical when they start it its always fine, they did say that the machine read some unusual spike in something but they couldnt figure out what was wrong and to be honest just didnt care....

    Now Its out of warranty, and the starting issue is getting worse. I was talking to VW headoffice and they said I could try and see if they'll do someone via goodwill... since the problem was there when it was under warranty, anyone any advise?

    Thanks in advance... im broke with paying for the car by the month and cant afford to give them any € if they ask??? does any one know my rights with this? :confused:

    Hi all.
    Just bumping this thread instead of starting a new one. My OH's 07 1.4 Golf has failed to start for a second time. First time was months ago. And same circumstances have meant it has failed to start again today. Am hooping someone out there might have had similar experience and now knows a solution.
    Basically, the car was started yesterday, but only for maybe 30 secs. I started it and just reversed it about 5 feet in the driveway. Then today it is failing to start. The starter is turning the engine over, but its not firing. The last time, the car started when it was pushed. Unfort the car can't be push started from where it is at min. Any help would be appreciated....

    Sounds like a fuel pump relay or the pump itself, VW have proved to be a heap of trouble of late, so many electrical components to go wrong, and do regularly. I know from experience all the main dealers do is replace modules and relays and charge the owner for the privilege, it's hit and miss really as to when of if they'll find the problem.

    Push start solved the problem again. For some reason, the engine seems to flood, when it just gets started and stopped within a few seconds, and then left to sit..
