Old Passport Returned??

    can anyone help? - probably missed it but i'll ask anyway!

    i can't find anything about it, bar on foreign country government sites, but I am renewing my passport. Just wondering do I actually get my old passport back when I send it in when renewing my passport?

    I have a good few visas from travelling Asia and Australia/NZ and don't want to send it in, if its to not get returned!

    They are returned, slightly mutilated (corners cut).

    Yes, as P. Breathnach said when I returned my old Irish passport for renewal three years ago they returned my old one with the corners cut off and "Cancelled" stamped on the page with your photo and on a blank visa page. I don't know what the procedure for the passports of other countries is.
