Screen flashing Windows XP Home

My father was in contact with me yesterday and said that his screen has starting flashing when he uses the mouse. I found a problem that suggested uninstalling Microsoft Intellipoint may solve the problem, but he doesn't have Intellipoint. I got him to uninstall the mouse and reboot, windows reinstalled the mouse but…

I found a problem that suggested uninstalling Microsoft Intellipoint may solve the problem, but he doesn't have Intellipoint.

I got him to uninstall the mouse and reboot, windows reinstalled the mouse but problem still exists.

Any ideas guys?
