No Skytext on new HD box?

On brand new Sky HD box nothing happening when you press "text" or the "red" button on Sky or BBC or any channel. "Loading" comes up on the screen for a couple of seconds but nothing else? Anyone ever hear of anything like that?? Ive a feeling its something to do with connections but cant find anything specific on the net.

Yeah, it seems to be hit and miss at times. Don't think Skytext operates on any of their HD channels, but even on the SD variants of the channels, the text will sometimes not work. Strange about BBCi though; that is normally okay. And Aertel won't appear on RTE if you have your box connected to the TV via a HDMI cable (apparently, it will if you've used a scart cable). Afraid I can't give you any answer on this; hopefully someone a bit more tech-savvy on here will be able to help.

Sorted, changed Scart in back of telly from rv1 to av2. Does this mean I lose picture quality?

You won't be watching anything in HD if you're using a scart connection !

Please explain? There is a hdmi cable and a scart between my telly and my sky hd box? Are they both doing a job?

you have to enable the hdmi connection on the sky box. (scart cannot transmit HD quallity)

this will get you the hd picture (on the hd channels) but no teletext.

and then enable the scart to watch teletext.

Can he not put the HD signal through av1 and the SD channel through av2 , or vice versa?
