Satellite is needed for free HD in Ireland.

Your box might work on regular Irish DTT, which has only engineering broadcasts at present. A non-HD freeview box doesn't work as it has no MPEG4, but the box you have does do MPEG4 (for HD), so that's why it might Work for SD TV here which uses MPEG4.

You need a Freesat system (preferred) or FTA satellite, then you will get most of the Freeview channels.

Your box will work if you live on the East coast from Dublin south to Wexford and put up an aerial and masthead amp pointed to either the arfon tx or presely tx in Wales.
