    Hi Guys,

My mate moved from France to Ireland around 3 months ago. Thankfully she now has gotten herself a job over here!

However she since she has never worked here before she does not have a P45 or 60, (she now has a pps number). Does anyone know how she goes about getting a P45 or whatever she will need so she doesnt pay emergency tax?

    Cheers

A P45 is not relevant to her - this is only to show what tax your last employer paid on your behalf.
She needs to complete a 12A form which you can download on the revenue website. On this form she needs to include her PPS no, and her employer details including their PAYE registration number.
Submit it as soon as possible.
this then enters her into the tax system. They will then issue her credit certificate to her new employer.
Not sure how quick they are to get this cert out - she may end up on emergency tax initially. Its a pain, but think of it as a way to save! she'll get it back soon enough anyway.
