So I was at the cinema today and on the way out I saw a poster for Space Chimps 2- 3D. Who asked for this? I could understand a dtv sequel but one opening in cinemas?

Sometimes a picture is worth 100 words.

Again, why? Why release a sequel to a mediocre movie no one remembers 9 years later? Oh and it's also in 3D, yey!

I think the fact it's in 3D will help it sell a few (more expensive) tickets.

I think you may want to go back to primary school and learn to count. Space Chimps 2 is being released this the year of our Lord 2010. The original was released in 2008 meaning that there has been a 2 year gap between films and not the nine years you so state.

I don't see why a sequel to a film which made nearly double its budget in theaters and then about the same again on DVD and Blu Ray is such a surprise.

Also I don't see how this is a megathread, it's more like a damb squib of a thread in which some preconceived opinions are expressed months before the film is released. While it could be dreadful beyond belief it could also be rather entertaining, the only way to tell is by watching the damned thing.

Well other people can post movies they think look terrible in here.

Well other people can post movies they think look terrible in here.

But every film looks terrible to at least one person, a friend of mine told me today that Life During Wartime looks terrible after I told him I was ordering it on sky box office. Another friend has yet to watch The Dark Knight as he thought it looked terrible and as such he won't "waste two hours of his life" on it.

Cinema is subjective and as such everyone sees films in different ways. For example I think that any spoof film in recent years looks terrible and after being tricked into watching Superhero Movie and willingly subjecting myself to Disaster Movie (was paid to watch it though) I know that they are terrible thought that said the trailers for both gave that fact away.
