Finished college for this year and not sure if it will go ahead next year due to falling numbers.
So my question is, can my student card for 2009-2010 be used for discounts in shops etc. throughout the summer?

    If it's a Student Travelcard, it's valid until 31 December 2010.

It's not a student travel card just a student id card

Many shops won't accept a regular student card for those purposes. But if they do, I presume they'll accept it until next academic year.

Well, mine says it's valid until 31st August 2010 so I can't really see why not tbh.

Where? Certainly any cinema in Dublin I've ever gone to accepts them.

If I'm looking for a student discount I always show my student travelcard and it always works...it's been useable throughout the summer and is still valid until Dec 31st as already mentioned :)
