O2 Broadband question

    hi all,
    more of a business question than a problem. i got o2 broadband last month on the 7th of april, a 12 month contract. my month's was up yesterday but when i check my allowance online, it hasn't gone back up to 10GB. i currently have 30MB left and i don't want to go over but since the month was up yesterday, if i use more than 30MB today, will they charge me extra for going over?
    how long does it take for the allowance to reset itself, do ye know?

    tried sticking my broadband sim into my o2 phone and calling but an "error in connection" keeps coming up, but i've called them before that way. :confused:

    this is what shows up when i check my allowance online.
    HEAnet 12 month Broadband
    Carried over from previous month(s) 0.00 MB
    Units granted this month 10,240.00 MB
    Units available this month 10,240.00 MB
    Units used so far this month 10,212.18 MB
    Units remaining this month 27.82 MB

    i got the broadband on the 7th april. my month should have been up on friday but the allowance hasn't gone back up to 10GB
    i rang customer care from my mobile but i'm waiting on a callback in 3-5 working days, which is a bit of an inconvience :(

    could the problem just be that they haven't taken the money out of my account yet, being that my month ended on a friday? i've set up a direct debit with them, does that take money out on a weekend?

    Voice services are normally disabled on the broadband SIMs.

    Your month will not be started on the day you signed up, it will be based on O2's billing period, which can vary. Mine ran from the 10th to the 9th of every month. If yours is the same, your new month starts tomorrow. You can check it if you have an O2online account. Look for the billing date.

    i haven't been billed yet, but when i check the breakdown of the units (when and how much i used the broadband, the thing you can download in excel) it says 7/04/10 to 7/05/10.
    i don't think i've been billed yet, so that could be the reason why my units haven't gone back up to 10GB yet. that'll teach me to use up all my units to a fraction :rolleyes:
    i rang them before with the broadband sim for a change of name thing on a form. i'm due a callback in 3-5 working days, so hopefully this'll sort it out.

    okay, my allowance has gone back up to 10GB minus the 5mb or so for the use i've used since friday, but on "my account" home, it says "Current balance" is €20.56. :confused: i thought i'd just owe €10, as my deal says. i got the HEAnet student €10 for 12 months deal 10GB allowance.
    i've gone through the unbilled usage, and they're all checked, ie inside my allowance.
    i'm gonna ask them about this when i get the callback.

    Make sure you stick it to O2 because they have had alot of problems with there mobile broadband!

    €10 for the month gone by, €10 for the coming month (as you pay in advance but didn't pay at the start) makes €20. The extra 56c could be to round you off to O2's nearest billing date. That would be the equivalent of 2 days.

    Ask O2 for clarification, but that's more than likely it.

    thanks jor el. i'll ask them for clarification when they call back.

    i was wondering about the 56c though. i know i could have only used 5MB cos i was only going online to check my allowance, and i was quick.
    although the 56c could be if they charge 2c/MB for the 28MB i had left over. maybe i'm reading too much into this, but i'll be sure to ask them about it.

    you were right jor el. the €20 was for may and april. the 56c came from the 1-2 days i had the broadband, but wasn't included in the billing period that o2 set up from the 8th -> 8th of every month
    o2 just called back there, and said that i'll have my 10GB renewed at midnight on the 8th of every month, although it may take a day or two for my account to refresh that data online.
