Hi guys, I got a corolla 03 tspirit D4D hatchback. The one with the 109 bhp engine. Great car but was wondering what options I had for tuning the engine. I don't think a remap can be done. I know there are tuning boxs. Are they any good?

theres no remap available for the D4D in Ireland, not when i searched in anyway!
but my recommendation is to get onto Martin in Westward Engineering in Enfield, he can supply and fit a tuning kit which includes a proper "Tuning Box" and K&N drop in filter.

he should also allow you to fit it and drive it for half an hour to make sure your happy with the increases, in least that option was offered to me the last time i talked to him.

you should see gains of about 20bhp and a decent improovement in torque.

Decent units and great service. I have used a couple of their units with no issues.

TTE used to do a chip for the Corolla 2.0, think it was 125hp afterwards.

Don't go too mad, you don't want to feck the flywheel or clutch.

Don't Toyota have a proprietary solution for D4D engines ?

Yep, the TTE chip I mentioned before is a Toyota part and doesn't affect warranty (not really an issue on an old car, but shows it's unlikely to do any harm to the car)

TTE is gone now, they're called Toyota Motorsport. Don't know if there's a site for the chips now, but it used to be www.tte.de

Expensive though. I'm sure chippedire would be able to do a good job on it.
