Just wondering what has been the biggest drop in handicap you've experienced in one season?

19 to 4 is astronomical... I started to play seriously last year and take regular lessons, dropped from 18 to 13 May 09-May 10...... hope to get to 10 by end of season but more serious work required.... booked into Dave Pelz in 2 weeks...that shud help...

The record will come if you double the drop from last year to this..... :D

Youth, talent and quite a bit of hard work I'd guess!

dont think its a lie. Think about it. Some guy playing a lot of golf but doesnt have a handicap joins a club and hands in 3 poor rounds for a handicap in this case 19. He may be an actual good golfer and had he been playing in lots of comps he would get cut. I know this cause it exactly what my brother did.

When I started playing (14 years old) I was off 28. One year later I was off 7. For junior golfers its definitely possible to knock a lot of shots off your handicap.

I have a cousin who started playing twice a day from essentially nothing. Within a dozen cards he was on a sub-18 handicap. Within a year hey was scratch, then shortly afterward, pro.

    nope its not lies
he was in 4th year in school, grew a few inches got stronger and he lived right beside the golf course. he played 18 holes every day after school for most of the school year.
if you were playing the same course every day you would know exactly where to hit it and what to hit. its not impossible

every read Dream On by John Richardson?
he shot 103 and in less than a year he shot a level par round
