Abilify 10 mg - Has anyone taken this?

I was recently prescribed by the doctor handling my depression Abilify 10 mg. He said that it would help stabilise my mood more (reduce the intensity of sadness/happiness). I read the leaflet and to be honest, I'm feeling very uncomfortable about the potential side effects. Some common ones I could live with if they happened (feeling sick, headache etc.) but although they say that the frequency is unknown (extremely rare I'm guessing), there are some other side effects which are truly frightening (sudden unexplained death, heart attack) so although I was going to start on Abilify tonight, I'm not so sure now. I know people will say that it happens only in very extreme cases but the point is that it does happen but there is just a very small chance that it could. So can anyone who has taken this tell me how they felt (side effects wise) and do you feel a noticeable difference in its benefits? I can't contact my doctor since he's very busy and the next time I'll see him will be next month. I will talk to my GP on Monday to see what he has to say about it.

This thread will probably be locked as it's a medical question? My old housemate used it for Bipolar disorder and her ups and downs were still pretty extreme but she didn't seem to have any major side affects other than twitchiness sometimes.

I've had my own really bad experiences with meds so I'd highly recommend that you go and see an experienced and qualified therapist to help you out (as well as discussing your concerns about the meds to your doctor)
