Ah yes, here upon us again is exam time.
With the smell of freshly cut grass outside and the increasing periods of daylight, we the students are forced indoors in an attempt to trawl through as much rubbish as we can.

How can one be expected to study?
The library is thronged with egits on facebook and others spending a forune printing out the entite modules notes from moodle (later to be discarded at the bottom om a drawer)

Others turn the library into a social outlet, regularly you see groups hanging out there.

Would everyone just **** OFF and leave my library alone to me so I can study in peace.

why did you start an account to say this?

If you're not content with the library, study at home.

Its none of your business why i started this thread.

Personally, i feel the whole system in DCU is a joke.
I heard recently a someone missed an exam and got given the class average because of who he was.
This needs to be looked at.

Also that Library Monitor does me head in !

    I doubt this happens.

Yeah some people go on facebook in the library, you can't study solidly for more than an hour, the brain actually can't handle that much info, it's been scientifically proven that people study better when they take a 15 min break after every 50 mins studied, so if someone decides to pop on facebook for a few mins to relax every now and then I think its only fair that they be allowed... If you have such a problem with the library, why not study elsewhere?

The only way a person could miss their exams and still pass is if at least 40% of the module was based on continuous assessment, some of my modules are 50:50 and you need an overall majority of 40% to pass the module, so if you get more than 80% in the continual assessment then it's possible to pass the module without actually sitting the exam....

Firstly, the library is not the only place to study.

Secondly, so what if people go on Facebook. It's not illegal to go on Facebook in the library or in any other library for that matter. Yes - it may seem a little off putting for those that are planning on studying, and are looking for free computer only to see 'egits' logged on to facebook, as you say in a spit of rage. Those that do use Facebook while studying are not 'egits' . I'm sure they have just a tab open to take a break from studying some notes, finishing assignments or doing their work which is none of your business.

Expect everyone to be different while many do fit into categories. Yes people do print off huge amount of notes. So what? Again it's not your business and I'm sure many of those that actually are bothering to print off something will do better in their exams for the sheer act of bothering.

As for little clicks of disturbing people, go call LiboCop on them rather than spit rage on boards.

If you think you will change anything by wasting your time on the boards, hoping that LiboCop will read this and do something about it... it's just....

well sometimes people do get sick, have personal issues etc.. so.. perhaps the module co-od overlooked that students totally class average and attendance and somewhat found a loophole to make them pass.. rules are there to be changed, argued or altered in some way or another... why should a dedicated hard working student fail or have to re-sit a paper for *perhaps personal issues* that effected him or her from sitting a term paper, when some students who would hardy turn up to lectures or rush last minute assignments etc.. pass on the same accord...??
