I would like to get an iphone cheaper than in Ireland, but are they cheaper in America. (I know you can get an international charger BTW)

so they are roughly, if not the same price?

The price is irrelevant as you won't be able to buy one.

The only way to get an iPhone in the states to contract with AT&T. Unless you bought it second of course..

You can actually buy the iPhone in the apple store as a Gift (its in the small print). But the pricing makes it prohibitive.

    Cheers

It'll also be locked to AT&T.

There are load of street corner shops advertising Iphones, i asked one of the lads behind the counter who said that it would work perfectly in Ireland. They were $300 IIRC

They're fake iPhones. The real iPhone is ONLY allowed to be sold in either ATT stores or Apple stores in the US. Contract only as well.

i looked at these phones when they were the "3G" version and also when they released the "3GS" versins, and they were cheap copies!

its amazing that on 5th Ave, they could get away with selling such crap!

    imo stay away.
