Cataracts at a young age!

I had my usual eye check up the other day and my Endo said I have cataracts forming. I have never noticed any problems and there is no family history. Although I am a type one Diabetic so this leaves me at a higher risk.
Is there anyone else out there with cataracts especially any young people (Im 25) Im not really sure what to expect other than they are easily treated with surgery.
Any information or experiences from suffers welcome!
    Thanks!!

In type 1 diabetics cataracts develop sooner and can progress quicker.
The surgery itself is very straight forward and is done usually as a day patient. The surgery takes about 10mins or so.
