I am planning a new build house and am looking at Control 4 for multi room audio and home cinema (cost depending). Has anyone any experience of this or other systems that do the same job?

    Hi Chamaid,

My brother installs control 4, audio and visual in houses. He is going to install my system (control 4, audio, lighting and home cinema) in the comming months. PM me if you want his contact details.

    Hi All,
As stated my brother is handling this for me, so i have a good idea of the end product but may not have all the technical specification.

What i wanted to achieve:To control my centrally located audio and video sources in various rooms. The abliltiy to be able to choose different sources in different locations simultaneously. Harddrives for music and dvd also.

I also wanted to create mood lighting in some of my main living spaces. We then put in a lighting control system.

I also want a 5.1 home cinema system with blue ray from main player.

With the above specification the control 4 system was nominated. It can control all the above through one interface. It can be controled though my tv, hand held remote, touch screen, i phone and also can be accessed remotely. The system is IP based so expansion is possible over time. The lighting control is Rako and the home cinema is BOSE.

There is a variety of systems available and it takes time and knowledge to find a solution that works.

Please feel free to PM me and i will provide contact details of my brothers company. Control 4 is just what suited my project but there are different products they use for different applications.

    the home cinema is BOSE.

Far better and much cheaper options then Bose available on the market.

As the project is being custom designed, the BOSE speakers were selected for there style/size and there quality, the speakers are powered by a third party amp and player.
There is loads of cheaper systems out there, but by mixing and matching the best results are achieved.

Hi we built last year & installed a 6 zone <SNIP> system & control via TV's, 2 Touchscreens, an iPad & by iPhone. I love it I have lighting, heating, CCTV, security alarm integrated as well as all my music & am currently loading my DVD collection on to it also. While im away I can log directly into my house from my app on my iPhone, look & control my CCTV, lighting, heating or security alarm which is fantastic. I looked at other systems but none had the integration that I wanted, most were stand alone music systems <SNIP> is a whole home control system. The other thing I really liked was the option to cable other rooms & add these into the system when I wanted. The installer done a fantastic job & I cannot recommend them highly enough <SNIP>

Listen guys, you would hardly expect the system to be anything less then magnificent considering it's smuffles25 own product that he/she is pimping.
